Cookies and trackers

To be reviewed by a legal professional before going live. This English version is a translation provided for convenience only; in case of discrepancy, the French version prevails. This page describes the cookies and other trackers used on https://preprod.whatdaface.com, in accordance with Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act and the guidelines of the CNIL (French data protection authority).

Our approach

The Site only uses cookies and trackers that are strictly necessary for it to work and for the service you request (design, cart, language). It uses no advertising, social network or third-party audience measurement cookies.

List of cookies and trackers

  • wdf_sid — design session and cart cookie: it keeps your design and cart from one page to the next. Signed and not readable by scripts (httpOnly). Lifetime: 30 days.
  • wdf_locale — remembers the chosen language (French or English). Lifetime: 1 year.
  • wdf_admin — back-office session cookie, set only for logged-in administrators. Signed and not readable by scripts (httpOnly). Lifetime: 8 hours.
  • wdf_pattern (browser session storage, “sessionStorage”) — temporarily keeps the current pattern settings. Cleared when the tab is closed.

Payment (Stripe)

When paying, you are redirected to the payment page hosted by Stripe, which may set its own cookies, in particular to secure the payment and prevent fraud. These cookies are Stripe's responsibility; they are described in Stripe's cookie policy, available at stripe.com.

Audience measurement

Our in-house audience measurement sets no cookie: it relies on a pseudonymous identifier that changes every day (see the privacy policy: https://preprod.whatdaface.com/en/legal/confidentialite). It is used solely to produce statistics for our own account; the data is not combined with other processing or passed on to third parties.

Why there is no cookie banner

Trackers that are strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user are exempt from consent (Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act; CNIL guidelines, deliberation No. 2020-091 of 17 September 2020). This is why the Site does not display a consent banner.

If we ever use cookies that require consent (advertising, social networks, non-exempt audience measurement, etc.), your consent will be requested beforehand, and you will be able to refuse or withdraw it as easily as you gave it.

Managing cookies

You can set your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may however prevent the Site from working (design, cart, language choice).

The “Delete my data” page (https://preprod.whatdaface.com/en/privacy) deletes your design session and the associated wdf_sid cookie.
